In the Indian context, the urgency of decarbonising the built environment is driven by the scale and pace of urbanisation, rising energy demand, and increasing climate vulnerabilities.
With a large share of the infrastructure needed for 2030 and beyond yet to be developed, India has a unique opportunity to adopt low-carbon pathways from the outset rather than relying on costly retrofitting in the future.
NZCBE 2026 provides a premier platform to advance this dialogue and action on decarbonisation in the built environment, with a particular focus on the Indian construction sector.
